Sunday 19th April turned out to be quite a wild night weather-wise — Auckland served up a thunderstorm just in time for our dance! But true to form, our wonderful members were not going to let a little rain and thunder stop them from getting on the dance floor.
We had a fair and spirited attendance, and the warm atmosphere inside St Aidan’s Church Hall made the stormy weather outside feel very far away indeed. Annie and Murray, as always, kept the music flowing beautifully all evening.
Surprise Visitors from the High Seas
The highlight of the evening was a delightful surprise — a couple from Australia who had taken a break from their cruise ship journey to spend the evening dancing with us! They found us while exploring Auckland for the day and decided to drop in. What a wonderful spontaneous decision! It was a pleasure to welcome them, and they were a joy to have on the floor. We hope they carry a little piece of Auckland’s dance spirit with them for the rest of their voyage!
New Faces and Familiar Ones
It was lovely to see a number of new faces joining us for the first time — welcome to everyone who came along! We hope you had a wonderful evening and that we will see you again soon. We did miss a few of our regulars who weren’t able to make it — we hope you are all well and look forward to seeing you back on the floor next time.
Next Dances
Our next dance is Sunday 17th May with Annie and Murray — and please note there will be no dance on Sunday 3rd May. After that we look forward to seeing everyone again on Sunday 31st May. Check our Upcoming Dances page for the latest dates.
See you on the dance floor, Elizabeth
